Ongoing Counseling Activities:
Unless noted otherwise, these activities are for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade.

Monthly Counseling Activities:
In addition to the ongoing activities listed above, the following activities will occur monthly. Unless noted otherwise, these activities are for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade.
August
· Organize counselor calendar
· Develop counseling plan for year
· Attend pre-planning in-services
· Help with Open House and new student registration
· Help new students find their classrooms
· Share information regarding student concerns with other grade level counselors
· Identify students needing early RTI/SST meetings
· Individual counseling regarding school adjustment
· Meet with teams to share individual student concerns
· Review RTI plan, attendance policy
· Teach counselor introduction lesson
· Child abuse presentation
· RAM Time Advisement training to all staff/new teachers
· Distribute counseling packets to teachers
· Textbook Check-In
· Planning for M & M mentoring program begins
· Prepare student attendance intervention for the year
· Plan for peer leader program
· Train Peer Leaders(8th Grade)

· Help with 8th Grade Writing Assessment
· Articulation meeting and planning with members from feeder schools/meetings begin with students leaders (6th Grade & 8th Grade)
· Sign paperwork for students interested in attending GSMST (8th Grade)
· Prepare for Summer Peer Leader Conference BCMS as host school
